Three prison escapees embark on a killing spree whose savagery knows no bounds. But the partner of a state trooper they slaughter vows retribution. Eric G. Dove gets into the heads of all three killers, lending chilling reality to their depraved motives. Ringleader Lamar Pye oozes anger out of every pore, showing affection only to his slow-witted cousin, Odell, who offers a puppy-like devotion in return. Dove gives the Pyes' prisoner hostage, Richard, the only depth of character in the group, portraying him with fear, shame, and rage. The extreme personalities of these three are offset by the startlingly bland lawmen out to end the killing spree.
