HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS

As they explore the old, abandoned house their family has moved into in northern California, brothers Xander and David discover that doors in the creepy house are portals to other places and other times. Joshua Swanson’s straightforward reading becomes animated as the boys find themselves in strange places and, at times, facing danger. Swanson changes tone and pacing to reflect the boys’ fear when they learn that not only can they enter the portals but a gigantic monster can come out, endangering their family members.
