Narrator Julia Whelan is intimately familiar with these characters after having narrated three books, and her youthful voice and plentiful energy carry listeners along for the supernatural ride. Whelan uses her talents to convey the over-the-top emotions of the teenage and preternatural characters. In portraying Southern, Maine, Scottish, British, Middle Eastern, and Icelandic characters, her accents slip occasionally, but her charming brightness more than makes up for it.
