Here's one of the greatest science fiction novels, dramatized with excellence by a quality cast, with music both futuristic and appropriate, and sound effects where they belong. The story itself is an early tour-de-force on mutation, extrasensory perception and genetic engineering. Van Vogt's stature in the field equals that of Asimov, Heinlein and Bradbury. The actors are excellent, if a little overwrought--at times, the lead has the tone of an exasperated baby. Younger listeners won't mind this, and older ones will overlook it--buy this program as a jewel for your audio science fiction collection. D.W.
