THE GREEN MAN

Robbie MacNab’s performance keeps Sedley’s latest Roger Chapman mystery quivering with energy. In order to place his brother, the Duke of Albany, on the Scottish throne, King James III orders the Duke of Gloucester to lead an army to Scotland. While Roger has been tapped by British royals for assistance on other occasions, he doesn’t understand why he’s been asked to serve as bodyguard to Albany. En route to Scotland, a series of mysterious attacks occurs, which Roger suspects are connected to the popular myth of the Green Man. Even when the story occasionally wanders and certain plot elements seem a bit too coincidental, MacNab is an enthusiastic storyteller, and Sedley’s fascinating characters and authentic fifteenth-century period detail will hold history and mystery buffs alike.
