SNAIL MAIL NO MORE

Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Paula Danziger, Ann M. Martin

Children Ages 8+ • 4.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Best friends Tara Starr and Elizabeth continue the correspondence detailing the trials and tribulations of family and middle-school life begun in P.S. Longer Letter Later. Both families enter the computer world, enabling the girls to correspond by email. This could not be a more timely book. As we see email woven into the fabric of middle-school students' lives, it is high time that it's woven into book format. In fact, Danziger and Martin crafted the story via email. As readers, the authors are superb. Who could know Elizabeth and Tara better or how they will respond to each joy and crisis? Danziger and Martin are genuine and fresh. Their intimate involvement with each character makes for a flowing presentation. The listener shares the immediacy of each email message as it is opened and read. Kudos to the authors for a great listening experience! A.R. Winner of AUDIOFILE Earphones Award. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC/JAN 01]
