For veterans of audiobooks, Jim Manchester’s narration of MANAGING may sound slightly plodding as there’s not much variety in his tone or pace over the course of the volume. However, those new to audiobook listening and serious about learning more about business management may be grateful for his purposeful pace. Manchester works through the detailed text—which includes business directives and advice, as well as interviews in an appendix—giving it the overall effect of strong, if slightly dry, business acumen. His steady, deliberate speed is well matched to the aim of the book—to give the listener a firmer grasp of the business-management skills necessary in today's world.
