TWO WAY STREET

by | Read by Cassandra Morris

Young Adult Young Adult • 7 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2007

Teens Jordan and Courtney—once a couple, now not—travel from Florida to Boston and struggle to be civil. The two characters switch chapters in narrating the story. Cassandra Morris doesn’t differentiate the timbre or intonation of the male and female characters, a strategy that makes sense only because the dialogue and discussion are pretty much the same no matter who is telling the story. The thin, whiny voice Morris uses makes all the characters sound exactly like the teenagers they are. Regular check-ins with friends and social networking sites are part of the story. So, are Jordan and Courtney in a relationship or not? It depends upon whose point of view one is hearing. Morris does a great job bringing the angst of teenaged relationships to life.
