A HARD DAY'S KNIGHT

Private Investigator John Taylor returns for Green’s eleventh Nightside novel. By now, Marc Vietor knows this series inside and out, and he uses his warm, rich baritone to good effect in bringing the cheeky characters to life. Taylor and his Valkyrie love, Shotgun Suzie, are in a violent, mystical race to find King Arthur and reunite him with the sword Excalibur. Fans of the series know what to expect: brief scenes of violence interspersed with longer stretches of exposition. Vietor has fun with the text, growling his way through Taylor’s lines, giving listeners over-the-top villains and a fittingly dramatic King Arthur.
