BECOMING Anna Strong, Vampire #1

Thanks to her latest assignment, Anna Strong, bail bond enforcer, is now a vampire. Narrator Dina Pearlman conveys Anna’s no-nonsense attitude as Anna and her vampire friend, Avery, attempt to track down the vampire who attacked her. Pearlman uses subtly different voices for Avery, Anna, and Anna’s partner, David, whose kidnapping propels Anna into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game. While Anna’s wry humor could be more strongly expressed, Pearlman’s delivery of the book’s suspense keeps listeners engaged.
