Italy has been luring travelers for centuries with its cultural attractions. In this audio collection, listeners are transported back in time to Italy of the past, traversing territory both rural and urban, from Piacenza to Rome to Naples, as depicted through the writings of authors such as Henry James and Mark Twain. The narrators provide British and American accents, depending on the origin of the author of each piece. Transitions between tracks feature atmospheric sounds such as noises from the seaside and ringing bells, as well as some instrumental music.
