MAXWELL'S REVENGE

The delightfully eccentric Maxwell is brought to life by narrator Peter Wickham's spirited presentation. No joke, pun, or aside could be better performed. Maxwell’s much younger wife, tiny son, mother-in-law, co-workers, and long suffering local constabulary all add to the fun. A clever poisoner is on the loose, and as bodies mount, Maxwell assists the police in their investigation. Since Maxwell is a teacher, his school life and pupils also make frequent appearances. Wickham gives the teachers individuality while the kids are typical kids as the story moves from police station to schoolyard. Most enjoyable is the banter and growing respect between Maxwell and his mother-in-law as they get to know each other and help the authorities find the culprit. S.G.B.
