THE POISON TRADERS

by | Read by Terry Wale

Mystery & Suspense • 6 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1995

Terry Wale is well suited to delivering a thriller that involves the European drug trade and drug routes that stretch to the borders of Afghanistan. After the murder of a colleague by the “poison traders,” Detective Inspector Marler sets out to track them down. While Marler is tracing the murderers, former criminal Mike Cann becomes involved, but he fails to act in time to prevent a tragic loss. Wale gives a steady tempo and fluid expressiveness to the story’s villains and does an excellent job maintaining the mood of terror as the plot approaches its climax. He credibly portrays Cann’s emotions as he copes with the part played by his lack of action. Overall, Wale engages listeners and keeps them hanging on for the dramatic ending.
