A SPIDER FOR LOCO SHOAT

by | Read by Ed Sala

Western • 10.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

The story is a tale of frontier corruption and the somewhat retired federal marshall who has to unravel its threads. Ed Sala transports us back to Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 1907. His narration of what is essentially a murder mystery captures the flavor and sensibilities of a frontier town and its cast of characters. Sala's voice is gravelly, authoritative and insightful. He uses a slight twang to accompany his characterizations, but never falls into Southern caricatures. Sala also does a great job pacing the story, so we get the surprise at the end. Fans of both Westerns and mysteries will enjoy Sala and Jones. R.I.G. © AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/MAR 00]
