Shakespeare, Joan of Arc, and other immortals are 10,000 years in the past; now John Dee, Machiavelli, and Virginia Dare prepare to destroy San Francisco. Narrator Paul Boehmer’s energy never flags as he portrays a large cast of characters. There’s such a diversity of ages, nationalities, genders, and intentions that he could easily go over the top, but instead he exhibits great restraint and gives a lively, confident performance of this mystical adventure.
