Although this book is more than a half century old, it’s hard to imagine that it has been improved upon as a lay person’s introduction to an area of human activity that many consider inaccessible or irrelevant. Although far from superficial, the writing is non-technical and friendly to reading aloud. The one difficulty with this audio version is that it’s not always clear where the numerous quotations begin or end. Some aural signal such as “Quote...end quote” would be helpful. Robert Sevra’s voice is clear and pleasant. He sounds like he’s interested in what he’s reading and understands it. His delivery is direct and natural.
