STRONG FOR POTATOES

From the first few minutes, listeners are caught up in the personal account of a young woman's journey toward self-awareness. Although she has suffered a disfiguring accident and an insufferable home life, Blue sets off to make her own way in the world. The choice of Amanda Karr as narrator works well for the main character's vulnerability and eventual coming of age. There is a youthful timbre to her voice that lends an air of authenticity to the role and instantly aligns the audience to the heroine.
