Here’s a great idea: Give readers good history in small bites, use interesting personal stories, and recommend sources where people can get even more information. That’s the idea behind this book, the first in a series on American history. Narrator Dan John Miller has a friendly, accessible voice that has a homey touch, and he seems to be reading with a smile on his face. Miller employs character voices with varying degrees of success, and he pauses effectively to let us think about what we’ve heard.
