Anger, fear and confusion are expressed by ten-year-old Andrea as she enters her new life, shuttling between the new homes and families of her divorced parents. Lesley Dunlop's intimate and convincing reading capitalizes on the story's first-person narrator, drawing the listener into the young protagonist's turbulent thoughts. The reader appropriately emphasizes the introspective quality of the story. Through fine tone and modulation she heightens the intensity of Andrea's experiences and feelings and clearly captures the personalities of the secondary characters as seen through Andrea's eyes.
