GANYMEDE Clockwork Century, Book 4

The Clockwork Century world is a parallel universe of the 1880s, complete with the U.S. Civil War. In New Orleans, Josephine runs her "boardinghouse" for women who are really spies for the Union. She lures her former lover from Seattle to "fly" a prototype submarine that sailors have found difficult to operate. Edoardo Ballerini draws on several accents for characters who are a mix of races, ages, social classes, and places of origin. He sets a comfortable pace that keeps the story moving steadily, adding a touch of tenderness as the former lovers become reacquainted and elements of suspense as they grab the submarine.
