TALES OF TERROR

Tim Behrens presents four short stories in the style of an old-fashioned radio dramatist. He reads Conan Doyle's wordy descriptive passages in a businesslike manner, setting the stage for each adventure. On that stage the characters emerge and speak almost, it seems, independently from the reader. Behrens' careful attention to accent and his faithfulness to the author's description of each of his characters delineates the jealous German lover as clearly as the terrified British aeronaut. These stories, centered around thwarted love and jealousy, evil character, and daring deeds are gentle in comparison to the same themes from contemporary writers. Stories include: "The Horror of the Heights," "The Leather Funnel," "The New Catacomb," "The Case of Lady Sannox." L.S.
