TALES OF THE OLD DETECTIVE AND OTHER BIG FAT LIES

The four Firesign Theater boys, cult comics of 1960's counter culture, created "Nick Danger, Third Eye," one of their most popular schticks. Here Nick himself, aka Phil Austin, continues his satiric homages to Philip Marlowe in stories written for audio performance. All are free-associative conversations between Austin and others--mostly the rambling, besotted shamus of the title. Even more droll and surreal than in his youth, Austin has audibly mellowed, his energy measured and his voice mature.
