EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL BEGAN AFTER

In a soft, measured voice, Van Booy weaves this tragic story, set mostly in Athens, of three lost souls: Henry, who as a child, inadvertently caused the death of his infant brother; Rebecca, whose life was "the history of missing people"; and George, an alcoholic who has never made friends and whose father deserted his family when George was a child. Van Booy's British accent is interesting, and he also delivers Greek and other accented English in a manner that is thoughtful and convincing. The story itself is dark—very dark.
