MIDNIGHT is the perfect listen for those who love intriguing mysteries with a dollop of the supernatural. P.I. Jack Nightingale, a former cop, is in very hot water. He inherits a bundle from his biological father, a man he never met, finds out he has a half-sister, and then finds out that his father promised his, Jack’s, soul to the devil. And people around him keep dying. Horribly. Thornley slips in and out of the characters seemingly effortlessly. As the story teeters on the brink of—and then happily drops into—horror, the occult, and spine-chilling melodrama, Thornley gives just the right edge to the scariness.
