TEXAS BOUND II

In the last decade, public radio has been increasingly partnering with museums and performance spaces to record and broadcast readings of contemporary short stories before live audiences. The reader has more fun playing to an appreciative house than playing to a single mike in a sterile, claustrophobic studio. An exciting spontaneity is almost always present as the audience reaction teaches the performer things about the work that no amount of private preparation can reveal. Communal fun and immediacy replace studio intimacy and control. This second volume of TEXAS BOUND, Lone Star performers doing Lone Star tales at the Dallas Museum of Art, exemplifies these virtues.
