THWONK

"Thwonk" is the sound Cupid's arrow makes when it pierces a heart. Angst-ridden high school senior A.J. McCreary discovers this fact when she meets Jonathan Livingston Cupid. In this first-person story, narrator Christina Moore brings the strong, independent A.J. to life as she portrays the longings, mood swings and anxieties of a typical, extremely likable teenager. A special quality inherent in Moore's voice produces a tone at once cynical and naive. She achieves superlative character differentiation through inflection, pace and enunciation.
