Author McCullough and narrator Graham are a perfect union. McCullough is a master at writing dialogue, as well as narrative. She’s a wonder to read or a delight to listen to as narrated by Graham. Tim is a handsome, 25-year-old mentally retarded man. He’s befriended by Mary, who’s in her 40’s and alone. They have a rich friendship, which is bittersweet, but always rewarding. Graham presents the Australian setting and rich cast of characters with moving realism. The Aussie accent, always fun to hear, adds to the pleasure. S.G.B.
