DEFENSIVE WOUNDS

Lisa Black writes with authority about the coroner's office in Cleveland. She should—she worked in that office for years. In DEFENSIVE WOUNDS, someone is killing defense lawyers at the most expensive hotel in Cleveland, and forensics scientist Theresa MacLean is trying to catch the killer. She's interested in the case because her daughter works at the hotel, and the teenager is in love with a prime suspect. Kirsten Potter performs the work and, to her credit, never flinches when pronouncing foot-long names of chemicals or some of the odd Cleveland monikers, like "Cuyahoga."
