ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS

Anna has many reasons to be angry with her parents, including their decision to send her to Paris for her senior year of high school. Kim Mai Guest captures the many accents and voices of the French, English, and American characters Anna meets abroad. Guest’s effortless-sounding switches from one voice to another add to the rich description and adventures of a school year spent in Paris. Her overacting, however, detracts from the story. Instead being endearing, her improvised huffs and sighs for Anna are annoying. Still, the fun story, especially its romantic tension, keeps the listener engaged.
