WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKTHROUGH

Three generations of women, living together under one roof, try to cope with life. They are the recently widowed Grandmother Ivy; her recently divorced daughter, Joanie; and Joanie’s daughter, cranky, awkward 15-year-old Christine. Using slight tonal differences, a precise and interesting voice, and readily apparent acting skills, McCullough breathes life into this often-depressing look at the difficulties of life at three different stages—youth, middle age, and the senior years.
