Narrator David Adams’s rich baritone delivers the story of this WWII pacifist, tracing his connections to Gandhi’s ideology. At moments, Adams’s pace feels static since he delivers his sentences in a slightly pronounced and repetitive way, but those who are committed to hearing about Swann’s life may be able to overlook these limitations.
