THE GODSON

THE GODSON is Barrett and Marnika at their best, and they have quite a few accomplishments to their combined credit. When the godson of a high government official gets on the wrong side of the IRA, he's spirited away to Australia until things calm down. Narrator Dino Marnika flawlessly presents an array of Aussies—from political figures and low-life hit men to a haughty, Shakespeare-quoting snob. He capably handles the colorful language and jokes that make up this zany story. Listeners will also learn tidbits about Australian food, drink (mostly alcoholic), and unusual words. This is not for everyone, but the adventuresome will be rewarded with a unique story and a lot of laughs. S.G.B.
