TRAMPLED LILIES

Lady Fortescue moved with her husband from England to Provence in the early l930s. In TRAMPLED LILIES she recalls her involvement with French troops during the Mobilisation Générale and her hasty escape back to England at the start of hostilities. Throughout the narration June Barrie projects Fortescue's warm-hearted generosity and keen observation. The constant labors of housing, feeding and clothing troops are realized with wit, humor and pensive performance.
