Of all the narrators who have tried to grasp the wayward wit and glorious vision of Nobel laureate Steinbeck, Ron McLarty is the best. In his reading of Steinbeck’s road-trip memoir “in search of America,” McLarty captures the tone of the author, as well as the voices and accents of the people he and his blue poodle meet along the way.
