UNDER THE NEVER SKY

Aria lives in a pod, an enclosed, sterile environment. Perry hunts out in the wild wastelands. When Aria stumbles across a state secret and is exiled, she and Perry join forces to survive and redeem themselves with their respective tribes. Narrator Bernadette Flagler’s husky voice captures both the intense survival story and the earnest young love that emerges. The novel’s point of view alternates between that of Aria and Perry, yet Flagler keeps each distinct. There’s action from the get-go, and Flagler sounds like she’s as caught up in the whirlwind as the characters. This is a fun take on the current dystopian trend.
