Brian Holsopple narrates this examination of the lives of the poor and the economic decisions they make in a straightforward tone. Banerjee and Duflo take an academic approach to studying how the poor make decisions and how their lives can be improved through the use of aid and financial investments. Holsopple puts the appropriate emphases on the phrasing of the text and uses pauses to set off quotations and parenthetical phrases, though it’s apparent he’s not at ease with the economic terminology.
