Jack has been nearly invisible for most of his life. He’s never had any friends, never even seen a picture of himself. There’s something electric—almost alive—about Hazelwood, something that Jack can feel. Daniels keeps this tension constantly present in his pauses and pacing. His portrayals of the characters fully bring the listener into the moments when Jack discovers what true friendship, family, and even evil look like.
