Bend an ear to how Capt'n Drinkwater and his frigate, Antigone, grapple with Boney's fleet off the Frenchie's coast. The author musta been bo'sun 'fore takin' up scribblin' 'cause he knows ships in detail. And that Mr. Sinden what reads it, I'll wager he's an old foc'sl hand--there ain't a seaman's term that don't just slide off his tongue. And tho' he speaks like a proper English gentleman, he does, them gilted words don't stop 'im from conjurin' sailors, ships an' whole battles outta thin air. I seen 'em and felt 'em like I was there.
