This series of audio adaptations should be welcomed by those who fondly remember the original "Twilight Zone" television series and the distinctive voice of Serling, its creator. This installment, volume 5, presents Maple Street, an ideal American neighborhood--until a series of strange occurrences brings on paranoia and mob behavior. Theodore Bikel's semi-voiced reading moves skillfully from normalcy to unreasoning fear, panic and paranoia which overtake the residents as the story progresses. Minimal sound effects and short musical bridges heighten the atmosphere. A successful production which should be popular, given the name recognition of this legendary television program.
