FIESTA FIASCO

When Culebra (Snake) prepares to celebrate his cumpleanos (birthday), Conejo (Rabbit), Tortuga (Tortoise), and Iguana shop together for regalos (presents). Selfish Conejo tricks his friends into purchases that might not be suitable for Culebra, but when he is left out of the celebration, Conejo changes his tune. Brian and Rosi Amador narrate with the impeccable enunciation and leisurely pacing necessary for youngsters to appreciate both the humor of this trickster tale and the combination of Spanish and English text. Each narrator brings personality to the friends—an especially slow-speaking and deep-voiced Tortuga and an alternately animated and dejected Conejo. Festive music accompanies the fiesta.
