EXPLICIT GOSPEL

Pastor Chandler, a minister in Dallas, Texas, fears the message of the gospel has been watered down. Some preachers, Chandler believes, focus on a Christianity that is more about cultural identity than what the old-school gospel message really means. Narrator David Heath delivers Chandler’s three-part message at a thoughtful pace. The first part, about God’s holiness and the nature of sin, is rendered with persuasive clarity. The second part, about God’s complex plan for restoration of our world, nature, and the return of Jesus, is delivered with brief pauses that show the topics’ importance. The author ties both viewpoints together in the third section in which he shows the merit of both views, each adding meaning to the other.
