In this silly, saucy memoir, Camryn Manheim enlightens listeners about being a large woman in the performing arts. Grandly infused with humor, her story addresses very real issues concerning the difficulty of being taken seriously as an actor in an industry with double standards about beauty. Her warm and accessible voice lends itself naturally to her story, creating a sense that the listener is an old friend she's catching up with after many years. Brief musical interludes mark chapter changes, and occasional sound effects are used in only the most appropriate places. (The phone rings on the morning she finds she's been nominated for an Emmy.)
