ECHOES OF BETRAYAL

by | Read by Jennifer VanDyck

Fantasy • 18 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2012

Narrator Jennifer VanDyck sets a strong pace as myriad plot threads find the major characters of the Paksenarrion series dealing with various adventures and intrigues. Relationships are complex, and the background from the base trilogy, at a minimum, is essential to following what’s happening. VanDyck is a no-nonsense narrator who sets a tone consistent with the military and political underpinnings of the book. She shows the confidence of the strong leaders but also reflects their insecurities and reticence when they have doubts. Just as adroitly, she portrays the bravado of the young squires, allowing them to waiver without being overcome by their sense of vulnerability.
