MÜNSTER'S CASE

by | Read by Simon Vance

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1998

In Sweden four older gents jointly win a lottery prize, and on the very night they go out to celebrate one of them gets stabbed 28 times. Narrator Simon Vance gives the story the right tone to reflect the increasing world-weariness of Intendent Münster, the police officer in charge of the investigation. Münster is dealing with murders, colleagues of varying temperaments, his own “iffy” marriage, and a general feeling of burnout. Yet Vance’s narration also conveys Münster’s essential strength and self-awareness. Furthermore, he captures the the key personality traits of the other characters in the book and delivers the book’s dark humor without a fumble.
