Cassandra Campbell's near-flawless phrasing and diction deliver this important book with the seriousness it deserves. She has a firm grip on the author's message--that goals for our children should be broader than traditional benchmarks like academic achievement. Sometimes, Campbell's gravitas sounds a bit at odds with Madeline Levine's personable writing, but it works well nevertheless to advance the author's well-documented mission, which is to encourage parents to put more thought and energy into developing children's character traits such as resilience, purpose, independence of mind, and a healthy ability to connect with others. Campbell's firm clarity is an undeniably appealing way to present the author's scholarship and advice.
