THE WILDER SISTERS

Rose is the older. Lily, the younger. Rose, a widow and mother of two young adults, lives in New Mexico; Lily, a medical specialist relentlessly pursuing her career, lives in California. After a five-year separation, the sisters meet by chance at their parents' home and begin to repair their torn relationship. The many plots and characters of this story are held together and related with the greatest of ease by Melissa Hughes. She paints with her voice, reading with shadings of color, whether a Spanish accent or a male inflection. This shading presents the backdrop while the story moves along on its own merit.
