WINTER OF THE GREY FOX

by | Read by Tom Rumer

Fiction • 1.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1995

Rumer narrates an elegy of adjustments. A fox, bereft of family and home, sets forth across a white, December landscape, seeking, at first, only food and shelter. A boy, still raw from the loss of his father, is taken by an old neighbor on an outing across the same terrain. The author recites this quasi-fable with bland ease. He makes no attempt at dramatization. Seldom does an accent or emphatic inflection intrude upon the steady pace. The slow shiftings of instinct and emotion occur at a tempo that will require unhurried listening. S.B.S. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: MAR 96]
