WINTER SOLSTICE

It's comforting to remember that not all fiction has to contain suspense and murder and not every book with a romantic theme has to fit the standard formula. Rosamunde Pilcher gives the listener a wonderfully satisfying romantic novel revolving around love, hope, and renewal. Lynn Redgrave brings together the main characters, Elfrida Phipps and Oscar Blandon, both well past 60, along with Elfrida's niece Carrie and her niece Lucy, and, of course, a stranger, Sam. Naturally, they all become entwined in each other's lives and hearts.
