THE WISHBONES

Ah, youth! Author Tom Perrotta gives us Dave Raymond, a 31-year-old musician who still lives at home and has just found himself in the unfortunate situation of having unwittingly proposed to his girlfriend of 16 years. Jack Hawkins is the voice behind Raymond, and he does a good job bringing across the ennui that is the favorite tune of many '90's adults. There's an affair with a New York City poet to throw some spice into Raymond's life, but even this has as much passion as falling into a ditch--it just happens sometimes and it's probably going to hurt.
