THE WISHBONES

A different kind of coming-of-age story, this comic first novel concerns a 31-year-old still living like a suburban teenager and playing guitar with his old group, The Wishbones. John Edwards has a pleasant voice and reads with comprehension. He particularly excells at the hero's moments of "quiet desperation."
